    PRS register opens in the West Midlands

    Landlords with assured or regulated tenancies must register themselves and each property. £65 per property, renewed annually. Other regions follow monthly until 14 November 2027.

  2. 1 May 2026

    Renters' Rights Act: section 21 abolished

    Assured shorthold tenancies became periodic assured tenancies. Rent can rise once a year via a section 13 notice. Landlords had to give existing tenants the government information sheet by 31 May 2026.
